Jesus Already Drop-Kicked Marxist, Atheist Agendas

In the age of the “enlightenment” of the 17th – 19th centuries, deep atheistic thinkers crawled into the corners of people’s minds with their materialist agendas, claiming physical science had an explanation for all we know in this world. The “rational” supplanted the “traditional” and the “material supplanted the supernatural.” People in the West began to reject claims of spiritual experiences and supernational causation, stabbing holes in the traditional and religious fabric that had shielded our societies against dark and intellectually irresponsible notions for centuries.

It was a time where challenging religion became somewhat fashionable in elite intellectual circles. Atheists, Marxists, and postmodernists came rallying with their bull horns out of the cracks in our Christian foundations, lambasting God, rejecting order, and claiming our world is a lucky product of chaotic and undesigned processes. They denied that we have any objective moral values or duties, such as the values of life, liberty, justice, equity, truth, and the duties to pursue them. They denied that we have any absolute truth. But how can anyone deny an absolute truth claim to be telling the truth? Their ugly ideas festered in Marxism, which led to the starvation deaths and slaughter of around 120 million in the USSR, China, and Cambodia, including many whose only crimes were saving morsels of their crops for their kids to eat or preaching religion.

The drive by some to destroy traditional family units, eliminate the patriarchy, and view life through the lenses of victimhood and power and oppression have always fueled radical far leftist values and atheistic or Marxist agendas. Today, they decry capital punishment for those guilty of murder while advocating for the murder of the innocent unborn. Their values are perverse and in opposition to our conscience. They’ve waged a war against our objective moral standard of goodness, God, and are out to destroy everything He has proclaimed to be true. And their latest war is on the human body, the unborn, and the family unit, though our bodies are sacred vessels made in God’s image, life begins at conception, and God blessed traditional marriages. Failing to marry lovers, murdering our unborn, or destroying our bodies with sexual immorality and corruption swims against God’s current, which is a war they’ll never win.

Despite such dark efforts, a light shines brightly for those willing to kneel in Jesus’ presence. Around 2000 years ago, the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. He is the loving force against which dark forces can’t prevail. Our Lord addressed the radical feminist movement by letting us know we’re made as men and women in God’s image. Jesus addressed the destruction of the family unit when He said that Biblical marriage was a lifelong bond between one man and one woman. He shared His views on abortion through Jeremiah the prophet.

“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”[2]

Jesus stands for peace, love, freedom, human dignity, and servant leadership. One would think that all would embrace Him, but sin powerfully binds. Sin festers, grows, and eventually devours us if we let it. Sin and Satan are synonymous.

Jesus came to rescue us from our sins. How did those in Jesus’ time repay Him for His miracles, wisdom, and love? One of His twelve chosen apostles betrayed Him and the “strong bulls of Bashan” beat Him, spat at Him, stripped Him of His clothing, and crucified Him. Rather than claiming victimhood and scorning His earthly enemies, Jesus forgave them. In doing so, He set the example for us of how we’re to live, lead, and love in these modern tribulations.

Between 700 and 1,000 years before Jesus’ arrival, we were told our Suffering Servant would be pierced for our transgressions and crushed for our iniquities.[3] He then saw the light of day and was glorified by God.

Jesus fulfilled over 330 prophecies in the Old Testament. Fulfilled prophecies are one of many strong indicators for the truth of the Bible and Christianity. In the Bible, we’re told that we’re made in God’s image, He loves us, He forgives us, and He holds us accountable. And He sacrificed Himself for us, as the only one in the world worthy to make such a sacrifice.

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”[4]

At this point, you may be wondering whether we have enough evidence to support the claims that Jesus is divine. We do. You may be wondering whether it would benefit societies to get back to our Christian roots. It would. And we should all spend the rest of our lives sharing the light and love of Jesus.

Thank you for your time. This is the draft introduction of a book I’ve been working on for over a year entitled, “The Power of One.” Feedback is welcome.

  1. I really like the pace of the writing here, pressing toward its conclusion. Statements like this really impact me, “Rather than claiming victimhood and scorning His earthly enemies, Jesus forgave them. In doing so, He set the example for us of how we’re to live, lead, and love in these modern tribulations.” But it’s one thing to recognize the truth of such statements, it’s so much harder to live out that truth.

I have your first two books, though I haven’t read them yet. I’m looking forward to your third, I’m sure it will be great.
